Candy Corn M&M Bites

Is there really anything that M&M’s can make that doesn’t taste absolutely awesome? I’m not a huge fan of Candy Corn at all. In fact, it’s probably my least favorite Halloween candy. I’m a total sucker for all of the Pumpkin and Ghost shaped chocolate bars. The Twix Ghost and Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins are my two favorite. They are so good! So, when I saw the Candy Corn M&M’s come across my desk, I wasn’t even slightly interested. Luckily I’m a sucker for M&M’s and gave them a taste. They are BOMB!! How though?? Maybe my taste buds are changing? I have no clue! Either way, I made Candy Corn M&M Bites for my decorative candy that I make during this time of year and it’s been hard to keep my hands off of it.

I have a mini ice tray that I picked up at Marshall’s and it works perfect for all sorts of things. These Candy Corn M&M Bites are a quick treat and really can be made with your favorite small candy. The M&M’s work perfect because of their size but you can even fill these with your favorite nuts or dried fruits. I typically use either Nestle Morsels or Lilly’s Dark Chocolate Chips for the chocolate. It really just depends on who I’m making them for. I love dark chocolate but my son prefers milk chocolate so I alternate the two. I have also used a full chocolate bar and just broken it into pieces before melting it.

These simple little treats are super cute too and make eating them fun. First, melt your chocolate whichever way you prefer. I normally melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between until the chocolate is completely melted. Then I spoon the chocolate into the mini ice tray pockets. Once those are filled I top them with the M&M’s (or your candy of choice) and put them in the freezer. Freeze them for at least 30 minutes and enjoy!
