I definitely have a love for all things BBQ. I love BBQ sandwiches, BBQ chips, pretty much BBQ anything. It may also be that it reminds me of summer and I love the summer months. I know sometimes it can be too hot but I much prefer the summer months over the winter months. I’m a warm weather person! I will say this though, this Easy Hawaiian BBQ Chicken can be made anytime of the year!
One of my favorite things to make and have on hand, especially during busy weeks, is Easy Shredded Chicken. It gives me the ease and flexibility to make different things with it so that dinner is never boring. It’s so versatile that I can make sandwiches, tacos, burritos, or serve it over rice. It takes just a few minutes to heat up and goes well with so many different flavors.
All you really need for this recipe is some BBQ sauce and a single serve container of no sugar added pineapple. I use G Hughes BBQ sauce because it’s low in sugar and has a great flavor to it. My favorite is the Original flavor but they have a great Hickory Smoke, Honey, and Maple Brown flavor. Feel free to use your favorite BBQ sauce, just remember the nutrition info will change depending on what ingredients you use. You’re also welcome to use more pineapple in your recipe but I like mine with just a hint of the pineapple flavor and save the pineapple pieces to top the chicken with.
Now, the add ons are all up to you. I like to pair this with cheese, red onions, and some type of BBQ chips. I love to put the chips in the burger for added flavor and crunch. How do you like to sandwich??Print

1. Mix together the shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, and juice from the pineapple cups
2. Warm a skillet on medium heat and add your chicken mixture. Cook until chicken is hot enough and serve.
3. Add the pineapple tidbits on top of the sandwich and enjoy!
This meal isn’t really a recipe but rather a quick, healthy way to stay on track and simplify your week. I like to top my BBQ chicken sandwich with cheese and more BBQ sauce.
