Alright all my peanut butter loving friends, have you ever tried a peanut butter and PICKLE sandwich? I sure hadn’t…until today. This combination caused a huge stir on the internet when it went viral again earlier this year. So, in honor of National Peanut Butter Lovers Month, we are going to be testing out weird peanut butter combinations! First on the list is the peanut butter and pickle sandwich.

Weird Combinations
I’m a huge fan of peanut butter…obviously! I also have a thing for pickles too. These two items are always on hand at home and most of the time I have multiple jars. I have all different types of nut butters and flavors. I actually love the texture of crunchy nut butters more but usually have more creamy flavors on hand. For some reason there are far more flavors in the creamy type than the crunchy type. Someone please reach out to the nut butter makers and let them know they need to fix this!

I also love pickles. There are 3 different jars in my fridge at this moment, they’re all different types, and they all have a purpose. Sweet Gherkins are great for snacking on. I usually buy the NSA jar at Walmart. They are crunchy and in a weird way, they satisfy my sweet tooth. I also keep Cornichon Pickles (pictured below) on hand because those are my favorite for when I make tuna or chicken salad. They add so much flavor and also give the tuna some extra crunch. I do have trouble finding these at the regular grocery store so I pick them up at Trader Joe’s most of the time. Bread and Butter Pickles are so good on sandwiches and burgers that we usually have a jar of those as well.

So it’s already been established that these two items are delicious…on their own. But will they be delicious together? They are two totally different flavors that I honestly have never even imagined putting together.

The Great Debate
So, is this going to be mind blowingly delicious or totally disgusting? We’ve tested it out and here is our verdict. Well, we had a 3-1 score in favor of this odd combination. Three of us actually enjoyed this sandwich and we had one person that did not like it at all. The three that liked it were all females so maybe it’s girl thing. All kidding aside, I really enjoyed this sandwich and will most likely be having it again. Soon!

By the way, there’s some chatter out there that adding Mayonnaise to this already odd combo is good too. Say what?!
