Protein Dalgona Coffee

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

This new coffee trend is all the rage in Korea and after making it I can definitely see why. It’s absolutely delicious and worth every bit of hype! Since I started making it, I can barely wait for my morning cup of coffee. The original recipe calls for equal parts instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. I put a healthy spin on it and it turned out just as amazing, if not tastier!

Protein Dalgona Coffee

I normally make my regular cup of coffee in the morning and add a scoop of collagen as my creamer and a little sugar free Torani syrup for sweetness. I use Ancient Nutrition Multi Collagen. So far it’s been my favorite for my morning coffee. I’ve been absolutely loving this method the last couple years until now. This whipped coffee is so good and worth the five minutes it takes to make. I was able to make a larger batch and store it so that I don’t have to make it every morning. I simply just pour my almond milk into my glass and spoon the prepped whipped coffee over it.

I like to make my version with a little bit of sweetness and you can do this a couple different ways. If I use unsweetened Collagen protein powder, I will sweeten the almond milk with an ounce of sugar free Torani syrup. My favorite flavor to use for pretty much anything is the sugar free S’mores. I have a pretty massive sweet tooth and an ounce of this is just perfect. If I have the Vanilla Collagen on hand then I just use regular unsweetened almond milk without the Torani syrup. The sweetened collagen adds more than enough sweetness to the coffee so unless you want it ultra sweet, you won’t need any sugar or additional sweeteners with this version.

Mixing this coffee is seriously like coffee porn. Is that even a thing? It is now. Making this coffee, looking at this coffee, and drinking this coffee is nothing short of absolute pleasure! Make this…ASAP! I promise, you will not regret it! The best part is, you can make it to your liking. Whether you like your coffee bitter, sweet, strong, hot, cold, or whatever! You can make it your favorite way. You can experiment with it as well and see what you like best. Let me know how you like it and make sure to tag me when you make it. I wanna see all of your beautiful creations!

The froth and creaminess of this coffee are amazing. I like to add a little cinnamon to mine because it just takes it up a level.

Ingredients

1 tbsp Instant Coffee

1 tbsp Multi Collagen Protein (I use Ancient Nutrition Vanilla or Unsweetened)

1 tbsp hot water

sprinkle of cinnamon on top as garnish (adds so much flavor!)

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients and beat with a hand blender or hand blender for about 3 minutes or until the mixture becomes super thick and creamy.
  2. Spoon over milk, mix in with spoon, and enjoy!

Notes

I’ve only done it with this type of protein and it has worked wonderfully for me. I can’t say that other protein powders will work the same. Another option would be making the original and pouring it over a premade protein drink like Premier Protein or something similar.
